Assignment 2 : Reflection on "How People Learn "

 What I get from this book is how to encourage students to learn and understand mathematics. By using the mathematical modelling method, it can attract the students to learn mathematics well and they will enjoy learning it. In mathematics lesson, the student can work on modeling and relate it with real life situation. From that, the student can learn on how to invent their own problem solving based on their understanding. Not only that, it also will expose the student to the experience on how mathematics can solve the problems by using mathematical principles such as additive, multiplicative composition and so on. Next, as a teacher, we need to have belief and goal to guide our instruction decision. It is important to determine the good examples of teaching for understanding. From experience of teaching, teachers will design their way to develop students’ understanding. Besides, the presentation and class discussion also help the teacher in analyzing the solution at the same time, it helps to improve the teacher’s progress in teaching student.
